This is the second commission for Barbara Genda for this particular client, only this time working in collaboration with a project manager. A complete refurbishment was needed for a period house in Cobham, including master dressing room wardrobes, window seat and drawers, master and family vanity units, living room library bookshelves

and TV unit, study furniture and secondary bedroom wardrobes. The brief was to create a classic with a modern twist, featuring the client’s favourite wood, walnut. The consistent element was the use of walnut to create a modern feel that worked in the traditional surroundings.

A modern feel that works in the traditional surroundings.

Living room

To complement the newly decorated oak paneling, a series of joinery was created in walnut to bring a modern feel to the space. Bookshelves and storage were cleverly designed with a bridge above the door and TV unit.

Study

The walnut scheme continued into the study where black and high gloss added a further contemporary twist. A bespoke partner’s desk plus a library bookshelf and filing unit were also included with integrated LED lighting.

Master dressing room

Walnut was the timber of choice in the dressing room wardrobes, with beautiful inlay marquetry on the door and beveled mirrored panels in the dressing room to convey quality and sophistication. A touch of softness was added with a window seat containing additional storage.

Bathrooms

Traditional vanity cabinets with a feature plinth looked stylish against the traditional marble tiling and classic bathroom fittings. The mirrored wall cabinets were built into cavities and solid maple doors completed this attractive scheme.

Your installers were very professional and thorough. I am very pleased with how the cupboards look and operate.
