Spruce up your home for Christmas

It’s that time of the year again, tinsel, fairy lights, baubles and of course the Christmas tree!

Before you dust off your festive decorations or splash out on some new ones we suggest you give your home a quick spruce up so it looks super special ready to welcome all your guests for some carols and mulled wine around the tree!

Paint touch up

Decking the hall will highlight your décor so it’s worth checking out if there are any paint touch ups that are needed. If you need to paint a large space you’ll be best to do the whole space to ensure the colour isn’t patchy.

Clean your carpet or flooring

This is a big one! Most people won’t admit how often they actually clean their carpets and flooring – we’re talking about a full deep clean not just a quick hoover. You’ll be completely amazed at the difference a deep clean can make.

New furniture – or upcycle

There is no need to purchase brand new furniture for Christmas Day, but some people choose to have an interior refresh at this time of the year. With the New Year in sight what better time to have an overhaul? If you don’t need to go all out, just breathe new life into your existing furniture. Touch up scuffs and scratch and add new cushions to an old sofa.

Create that cosy feeling

This could be your bedroom, living room or study. Before the crazy Christmas period starts pick a room to turn into to a cosy heaven. Christmas is all about being warm, snuggly and it’s the time of the year where most of us will hopefully be able to relax.

Small touches

Scented candles, flowers, mulled wine bubbling away. There are plenty of creative ways to spread the scent of Christmas into your home and give it a brand new feel at the same time. Cinnamon, chestnuts, satsuma’s – there are so many festive smells that will inject warmth to your home.
