Versatile Veneers

Being makers of bespoke furniture, we work with veneers on a daily basis, creating real wood finishes that often leave people guessing what is solid wood and what is a cleverly disguised piece of plywood. Not only are veneers a wonderful way to save on cost (without sacrificing appearance), but they are better for global wood resources and the possibilities are endless to what can be made with a wood veneer.

A veneer is essentially a very thin slice of wood that can be cut, shaped and glued to a base structure, making it an extremely versatile way to create a naturally beautiful finish. While the most common use may be to adorn a piece of furniture, there are plenty of other ingenious ways to make the most of a veneer.

Sticking within the home, but venturing away from wardrobes and the likes, veneers can be used to create stunning decorative lighting features which take full advantage of a veneers flexibility and texture. Bespoke, statement pieces of art can transform your living space, adding a personal touch with custom images painted, burned or etched onto a wooden veneer background. Of course, if you feel that using veneers for your furniture just isn’t enough, you could always have the whole of the outside of your house veneered!

Once you’ve celebrated the wonder of veneers in your home, where do you go from there? How about wearing veneers? How about wooden brimmed baseball caps? Matching his and her wooden bracelets?
