Traditional country home receives a luxury makeover

This client came to us following a recommendation from her parents, for whom Barbara Genda had made several pieces of furniture. Having purchased a traditional home in Cobham she wanted to completely rebuild the dressing room, add wardrobes to two further bedrooms and create a beautiful study. The master dressing room become more contemporary and functional with a custom-made dressing

table and mirror, extensive L-shaped wardrobes with two alcoves and a large integrated full size mirror on the chimney breast. The clever cabinet makers crafted a true gentleman’s study to complement the client’s Linley desk with deep bookshelves, storage cabinets and a central TV panel. Finally, two bedrooms were fitted with alcove wardrobes to create much-needed storage space.

Traditional choices were made to complement the style of the house. For the dressing table and mirrors the designers used beveled mirror and timber panels with luxurious oak veneered interiors.

The perfect finish for this gentleman’s study was a beautiful burr walnut veneer for the paneling and mixed oak and maple veneers with walnut framing on the doors.

Solid maple door frame with birds eye maple panels were chosen in the first bedroom and solid walnut doors and oak interiors for the second to continue the traditional theme.
