Grand Designs

This is the second commission for Barbara Genda for this particular client. A full house renovation was required, including 'His and Hers' Dressing Rooms, traditional Boot Room, Bookcase with secret door, Games Room (to service a home bowling alley) and Children's Bedrooms.

The use of solid oak and natural veneers throughout provided a sense of consistency and harmony, which was a challenge to achieve in such a grand property, but a challenge we relished.

Drawing room

Finished in rich, warm Macassar with decorative pattern and polished nickel inlay, this Bookcase is one that James Bond himself would be proud to own. Not just due to the refined finish, but also to the secret door leading to a hidden room on the right hand side.

Her dressing room

Soft oak complemented by padded leather panels create an elegant, feminine finish to this U Shaped Dressing Room. Copious amounts of hanging space, drawers and clever shoe storage. Mirrored doors help to add additional lighting.

His dressing room

Solid walnut frames and padded leather suggest a more masculine Dressing Room for him with hanging space, drawers and a solid timber tie and belt rack. Again, mirrors add depth and light.

Children's bedrooms

The slope of the eaves made for a unique design for these two contrasting Children's Bedrooms. Both with shelving and a sliding door, concealing a Walk-in Closet, but each with a different natural looking finish. One in oak, the other in walnut. Both eye catching and practical in equal measure.

Boot room & Games room

With a home bowling alley, pool and snooker tables, our client needed somewhere to store equipment, so we designed two bespoke games cupboards. One complete with bowling ball display and shoe cubby holes, the other with cue placeholders. Both finished in burr oak veneer.
