Bringing a modern finish to a newly re-modeled home

Recommended by a neighbour, this client was a developer with their own building firm who saw the potential in Barbara’s ideas and commissioned this project. A complete refurbishment was need and all new joinery to be designed and installed in a newly re-modeled house. The

brief was to create a clean, modern and contemporary home, including a master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, children’s bedroom and functional furniture on the ground and lower ground floors.

The walk-in wardrobe was designed to provide the maximum amount of space and incorporated a dressing table with handbag storage. On the opposite wall, another run of wardrobes had deeper drawers providing additional storage. The space was given a contemporary makeover with the use of a clean, white satin finish.

Utilising the loft extension as a newly created children’s bedroom required careful planning to include sufficient storage. The clean white eaves wardrobe included an open bookshelf, also in a clean white finish, and the window seat included additional toy storage in bright blue upholstery for a splash of colour. The alcove was cleverly fitted with a funky-shaped desk and floating shelves and the look throughout fitted perfectly into this clean and contemporary home.

Last but not least, further functional joinery to create additional space was designed for the ground and basement floors. In the very narrow entrance hall, two large mirrored cabinets were built into the wall cavity to provide essential storage for shoes and coats. In the basement, two alcoves in grey veneer had cubby-holes for wine storage that looked elegant behind glass doors as well as wine fridges with LED lighting.
